Dear Parents,

The children worked so hard this week on preparing for our Thanksgiving celebration.  They continued worked on their Thanksgiving villages.  The children painted a brown base, then added teepees, “fire,” a “river,” and finally clay Native Americans, to it.  Please stop by our room to look at all our Thanksgiving decorations.

We also had a discussion about how the Native Americans lived a long time ago.  We learned that they bathed and fished in the river, and cooked their food on a fire.  The children were surprised when they discovered that they didn’t have stoves to cook on or a bath tub to wash in.

In music this week with Lisa, the children practiced the positions by using their box violins.  They also prepared for the Thanksgiving feast by learning some new holiday songs.

We celebrated Ella’s third birthday this week.  Thank you to her family for the delicious cupcakes.  The children enjoyed eating them.  Ella was so excited about her birthday celebration that she wore her birthday crown all day.

The highlight of the week was when Uri the clown visited our school.  He performed magic tricks for the children.  One of tricks that he performed was the magic coloring book page, which disappeared, and then reappeared again.  The children could not stop laughing.  They thought that was hilarious! He even stuck a long needle through a balloon without having the balloon pop.  The children also sang and marched around the room with Uri while playing various types of instruments.  Everyone had a great time.

We will be having a Thanksgiving celebration in two weeks.  There will be a sign-up sheet in Laetitia’s classroom,  if anyone would like to donate food for the feast.

Love,
Ms. Bonne and Ms. Barbara
